1. Prepare for the interview:

Visit the company website. Read about the various services or
products that the company offers. Read through the company’s annual
report and be aware of its financial position. Also be aware of any
stories involving the company that have surfaced in the media.
Be aware of what kind of questions to expect in an interview (see
below). Brush up on current affairs, particularly in the industry the job is in.
Have some questions prepared for the interviewer.

2. Be on time for the interview.
It is better to arrive for the interview early and have time to calm down, than to arrive late and be all flustered.

3. The dress code for most interviews is formal:
Looking neat and tidy is key. It’s sometimes better to go for a clean, classy look as opposed to trying to make a fashion statement. For example, ladies can wear black pants and a buttoned shirt and men can wear a suit and a tie.

4. Be confident.
Try and keep eye contact and speak clearly.

5. Sit up straight.
Posture adds to the presentation of the individual and like dress code, it is likely to affect the interviewers perception of  the individual’s neatness and tidiness.

6. If it is a telephonic interview then make sure the call takes
place in a quiet area.  Make sure the battery is fully charged if it is a
cellular phone. Answer the call confidently: e.g. “Taylor
speaking, hello”.
